Frequently asked questions
How does the image resizer work?
Upload your image and choose a resize method — exact pixels, percentage, aspect ratio, or a preset. Every change applies immediately and the preview updates with it, so what you see is what you download. The whole thing runs in your browser.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All resizing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.
Will resizing reduce image quality?
Downscaling generally maintains quality. Upscaling beyond the original resolution can cause pixelation. Use the quality slider before downloading to balance size and sharpness.
What image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP. Any other file is skipped before processing starts, so an unsupported file never reaches the resizer. Output can be saved as JPG, PNG or WebP, or kept in the format you uploaded.
