What is a text diff?
A text diff compares two versions of a text line by line and marks every line as added, removed or unchanged. Paste the old text on the left and the new text on the right, and the differences appear instantly.
Is my text data private?
Yes. All diffing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your text is never uploaded to any server, ensuring complete privacy.
Can I ignore whitespace and case?
Yes. Turn on "Ignore whitespace" so lines that differ only in spaces or tabs count as unchanged, and "Ignore case" so uppercase and lowercase match. Blank lines can be ignored too.
Can I share a diff with someone?
Yes. Both panes and every option encode into the page URL, so copying and sending the link shares the complete diff — same text, same options, same view.
How large a text can I diff?
Each side accepts up to 2 MB of text, and a side with more than 50 000 lines is refused with the figure rather than crashing the tab. For typical source code, documents and config files that is more than enough.
