Frequently asked questions
How do I rotate a PDF page?
Open your PDF in the tool and every page appears as a card with a preview. Turn a page 90° at a time with the Rotate left and Rotate right buttons on its card, or select several pages and turn them together. Then click Rotate & Download. Rotation only changes page orientation — text and images stay intact.
Can I rotate just one page instead of the whole file?
Yes. Every page has its own Rotate left and Rotate right buttons, so one page can be turned on its own. To turn several at once, click the pages to select them — Shift-click selects a run of pages — and use the Rotate left and Rotate right buttons in the toolbar. Select all, or use Set all, to turn the whole document at once, and Set selected to give the selected pages one exact angle.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. All rotation runs in your browser with pdf-lib. Your file never leaves your device.
Does rotating the PDF change the text or images?
No. Rotation is stored as the page's orientation, so nothing is re-encoded, re-rendered or re-compressed. Text, images, fonts, links and image quality remain exactly as they were, just turned.
Can I make a landscape PDF portrait (or the other way)?
Yes. A 90-degree turn switches a page between portrait and landscape. Apply it to the pages you want and download the corrected file.
My PDF already has some pages rotated. Will this override that?
No. Each page opens showing the orientation it already has in the file, so a page stored as 90° appears as 90° and turning it right makes it 180°. Pages you do not change are written out exactly as they were, and Reset returns a page to the orientation it started with.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
Yes, as long as it opens without asking you for a password. The rotated copy keeps the same protection, so you will still need the password to open the result. If a file prompts for a password to open at all, its pages cannot be previewed or rotated here — remove the password first.
Is there a page limit?
No hard limit. Page previews are rendered only as you scroll, so a long document stays responsive instead of loading every page up front. Very large files take a little longer to save.
